Our Projects

Cancer Screening

Cancer Screening & Community Health Camp

MIH partnered with Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu and local health facilities to deliver a large-scale cancer screening outreach across Muhoroni. Over 500 women were screened for cervical and breast cancer, giving many their first-ever access to preventive healthcare.
This initiative strengthened early detection efforts, improved community health awareness, and ensured lifesaving follow-ups for at-risk individuals

Blood Drive Initiative — 2024 & 2025

Over two consecutive years, MIH spearheaded community-driven blood donation campaigns to address the urgent need for safe blood in local hospitals.
Working with partners such as Muhoroni County Hospital, KTTA (RBTC), Ministry of Health, Kenya Red Cross, Agro Chemicals, Muhoroni Sugar Company, Nyando Sacco, Avra Water, Odo Gallery, and Eddy’s Kitchen Initiative, the drives:

  • Mobilized hundreds of residents across schools, marketplaces, and community centres
  • Ran multi-location operations to improve accessibility
  • Strengthened the regional blood bank and supported lifesaving emergency care
  • Promoted awareness, reduced stigma, and empowered residents to participate in life-saving action

Project Aspire Muhoroni (PAM)

A mentorship and empowerment program for girls and boys aged 15–18, connecting them with accomplished women from Muhoroni.
PAM equips them with:

  • Confidence-building support
  • Life skills and leadership training
  • Academic and career guidance

Our goal is to nurture a confident, resilient, and empowered generation of young women

Project AJIRA — Digital Skills for Youth

Project AJIRA combats youth unemployment by equipping young people with digital and online work skills. Building on this, MIH aims to scale the project to reach more youth and unlock digital economic opportunities across Muhoroni

MIH AgriHub — Sustainable Agriculture & Youth Empowerment

The MIH AgriHub is a growing centre for agricultural innovation, skills development, and community sustainability

  • Supports food security initiatives within Muhoroni
  • Encourages entrepreneurship in agriculture and related value chains

The AgriHub is a key pillar of MIH’s vision to build self-reliant, thriving rural communities
